The Seven Pillars of Ethics
1. Sidq al-Lisan (Truthfulness in Speech)
The fundamental obligation to always speak the truth. A person's word is their bond, and honesty forms the bedrock of individual character and social harmony.
2. Hifz al-Ikhwan (Protection of the Brethren)
The duty to watch over, protect, and support one's fellow brethren. This encompasses mutual aid, solidarity in times of need, and boundless hospitality.
3. Tark Ibadat al-Awthan (Abandoning Idolatry)
The absolute renunciation of idol worship in all its forms. This goes beyond physical idols to include the rejection of materialism and false doctrines that distract from the One Creator.
4. Bara'a min al-Abalis (Repudiation of Evil)
To actively distance oneself from the forces of evil, falsehood, and those who promote injustice or corruption in the world.
5. Tawhid al-Ma'bud (Oneness of God)
The unceasing recognition and declaration of the absolute unity of the Creator, who is eternal, incomprehensible, and sovereign over all existence.
6. Rida (Contentment with God's Acts)
Finding inner peace and satisfaction with whatever God has ordained. It is the spiritual tranquility that comes from knowing God's wisdom is supreme.
7. Taslim (Total Submission to God's Will)
The ultimate surrender of one's own will to the divine will of the Creator, accepting joy and sorrow alike with an unwavering heart.
